Imaging and Radiology
For people with illnesses, having a precise image of what's going on inside their bodies is a critical first step towards correct diagnosis and treatment. Towards that end, Lawrence General Hospital offers a large and growing number of digital imaging and radiological services including:
In addition, Lawrence General is the only hospital in the Merrimack Valley offering Chemotherapeutic Embolization and Radiofrequency Ablation procedures to treat cancer related tumors with advanced, minimally invasive techniques. These procedures are offered through our Interventional Radiology Department, a specialized department within Radiology.
Radiology tests require a physician's order. Some CT and MRI examinations also require preauthorization from your insurance company. Your doctor will provide you with the information needed to schedule your appointment with us.
If you have an appointment for an X-ray or a CT examination you should report to the Admitting Office on the first floor, 20 minutes before your scheduled appointment. When the admission process is complete you will be directed to the Main Radiology Department located on the second floor.
