X-Ray

An X-ray uses minimal doses of radiation to capture images of the body. The Imaging Department at Lawrence General utilizes advanced digital technology to produce high quality images. Through a digital network, images are then transmitted to the radiologist who interprets them using voice recognition software. This means less waiting time for diagnostic procedures, less time spent in imaging machines and lower radiation exposure. Most important to a patient anxiously awaiting test results, the findings can be quickly transmitted electronically within the hospital or to the offices of primary care physicians and consulting specialists, thereby shortening the period before any needed treatment begins.

Type of X-Ray Exams Include:

  • Routine X-rays (chest, abdomen, extremities, spine, etc.)
  • Gastrointestinal X-rays (barium swallow, upper G.I. series, small bowel, and barium enema)
  • VCUG (voiding cystourethrogram)
  • Arthrograms
