Nursing Leadership

Nursing leaders play a critical role in the daily functioning of hospital operations and care delivery by designing, overseeing, and monitoring patient care services while assuring strong practice environments, engagement with nursing staff and driving quality and safety outcomes. Nurses are involved in the daily functioning of Lawrence General at every level of the organization. Every hospital has a chief nurse who is required to be a member of the senior executive team, to attend board meetings, and to report on measures of nursing performance. Nursing directors are responsible for strategic development in their areas, and nurse managers are unit-based and work directly with the nursing staff and interdisciplinary team in specialty areas.

At Lawrence General, we have given special focus on the role and scope of nurse managers so they can be available to patients, families, and staff.
