Lawrence General’s accreditation is effective through August 2025.

Hospitals are eligible to earn the HeartCARE Center designation by meeting a set of criteria, including participating in at least two American College of Cardiology Accreditation Services programs, the National Cardiovascular Data Registry, and taking part in targeted quality improvement campaigns designed to help hospitals close gaps in guideline-based care.

“Achieving the HeartCARE Center National Distinction of Excellence from the American College of Cardiology for the sixth year in a row reflects our cardiovascular team’s commitment to consistently provide the highest quality of care to our patients and community,” Director of Cardiovascular Services Kathy Caredeo said. “It is our team’s desire to be the leading hospital in the Merrimack Valley for cardiovascular care.”

In 2018, Lawrence General was one of the first four hospitals in the country to receive the HeartCARE distinction from the American College of Cardiology when the award was first established.

Lawrence General is a leader in the Merrimack Valley for high quality cardiovascular care. In 2013, Lawrence General was the first community hospital in the United States without on-site cardiac surgery to achieve Accreditation for Cardiovascular Excellence (ACE) for cardiac catheterization; the hospital was reaccredited in 2015.

Lawrence General also currently holds the following accreditations from the American College of Cardiology: Cardiac Cath Lab with PCI Accreditation; Chest Pain Accreditation with Percutaneous Coronary Intervention; and Heart Failure Accreditation.
