Post-Acute COVID-19 Rehabilitation
Patients who have recovered or are recovering from COVID-19 may have persistent symptoms after the active infection has cleared. There is a wide range of post-acute COVID-19 symptoms including, but not limited to:
- Fatigue
- Shortness of breath
- Muscle pain
- Joint pain
- Weakness
- Increased heart rate
- Decreased exercise/activity tolerance
The goal of physical therapy for this population is to establish a safe and gradual exercise program focused on strengthening, stretching, core stabilization, posture, and pain relief. As you progress and your endurance improves, your therapist will focus on exercises and activities to help you return to normal day-to-day life and recreational activities. It’s time to get back to doing the things you enjoy and love!
