Types of Diabetes
There are several types of diabetes.
Type 1
Type 1 diabetes – previously known as juvenile diabetes – is typically diagnosed in children and young adults. In Type 1 diabetes, the body doesn't produce insulin. With the help of insulin therapy and other treatments, even young children with Type 1 diabetes can learn to manage their condition and live long, healthy, happy lives.
Type 2
Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes. In the case of this Diabetes, the body either doesn't produce enough insulin or the cells in the body ignore the insulin it produces.
Gestational Diabetes
Gestational diabetes manifests itself in pregnant women usually around 28 weeks or later into their pregnancy. Women with this type of diabetes often cease to have it after giving birth.
