President's Message

Dear Friends,

Deborah WilsonThis is the most exciting time in the nearly 150-year life of Lawrence General! Driven by a mission to be the health care resource our community needs, we are offering expanded access in new locations in the region and more services you need, so you don’t have to travel for health care. With highly accredited programs, like Cardiovascular, Weight Management and Bariatrics, Trauma, Women’s Health Imaging, stroke, resuscitation and more, our high-quality care is well recognized by the industry’s preeminent authorities on care and quality, proudly earning the esteemed Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission. Health care services are most helpful if they are convenient and responsive as well as high quality, and that is our goal as your community-focused hospital and health network.

With a proud commitment to Health Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, our passionate focus on providing quality care and a positive patient experience is stronger than ever. Our updated Strategic Plan serves as the roadmap for achieving excellence in five strategic areas of focus, or our Five Es of Excellence:

  • Enhance community and patient perceptions
  • Elevate Health Equity & DEI
  • Emerge as the Regional Provider & Employer of Choice
  • Establish Financial Sustainability
  • Enable Innovation

I invite you to view the expanded summary of our strategic pillars, our vision for each and how we plan to achieve our Five Es of Excellence.

Equipped with the wisdom, experience and lessons learned in the wake of the historic pandemic, we are laser focused on providing the best possible care for the people we serve. For Lawrence General that starts with a first-rate workforce equipped with the expertise and technology to delivery on our promises. It’s a new day for us, with renovated pediatric and adult inpatient units, a technologically advanced surgical center, more primary care physicians and specialists than ever before in our network, highly skilled nurses and other caregivers, and a culture that listens to patients’ voices, supports families, and provides the kind of high quality care you expect and deserve.

We have multiple sites in the region where you can access lab and imaging and other services, including Andover Medical Center on Route 133 in Andover, and Methuen Family Health Center on Pelham Street in Methuen. Like the main hospital campus on General Street in Lawrence, both these outpatient sites are easily accessible from the highway, with plenty of parking and the same patient-centered philosophy.

We can take care of health care concerns right here in our own community with a personalized touch that is the hallmark of local care, but we also have strong connections with a wide network of providers including through our clinical affiliation with Steward Health Care.

More and more of your neighbors are discovering the Lawrence General of today is not what you’d expect. If you already choose Lawrence General for your care, we thank you! If not, next time you need health services we invite you to reach out to us. It will be our honor to serve you.
