Lawrence General Featured in National TV Series

One of the most popular television series on the BBC has come to America, and 39 local physicians, nurses, surgeons and clinical staff of Lawrence General Hospital are the stars! 

BIZARRE ER is a series which follows the most extraordinary and fascinating cases from two hospitals each season, and recounts amazing tales of medical survival from around the world.  The series premiered in the USA on Saturday, July 6th at 10 pm on Discovery Fit & Health, and 14 actual cases at Lawrence General are featured very positively in every episode this season. This series runs for 10 weeks and will be appearing around the world, and will be available to over 1 billion individuals per Mark Downie, Executive Producer and Head of Factual for Maverick TV.

Full past episodes are are available to Xfinity customers via "On Demand".

Lawrence, MA – Renowned medical documentary series, BIZARRE ER, recently filmed at Lawrence General Hospital, will begin airing in the U.S. on Discovery Fit & Health on Saturday, July 6th.

The award-winning program from Maverick TV is narrated by famed singer, stage and TV actor John Barrowman, and features the compelling, fascinating and downright strange cases of amazing medical survival that come through hospital doors from both sides of the pond. This marks the season premiere of the 5th season of BIZARRE ER, and the first time the medical documentary series has filmed at a U.S. hospital.

Filmed in the U.S. and the United Kingdom, and with follow up stories from around the world, each 30 minute episode follows several patients facing an unusual injury, from the moment they walk through the doors of the emergency room. Viewers will join patients through the process of diagnosis, treatment, and ultimately discharge from the hospital. The circumstances which caused these patients’ peculiar injuries are often funny, and are reconstructed with Maverick’s award-winning graphics and animations. From body piercings gone awry, to an eye glued shut, BIZARRE ER brings viewers into the lighter side of the emergency room.
