Pediatric Speech Therapy Services

The Lawrence General Hospital Speech-Language Pathology Department evaluates and treats children who need speech-language therapy related to conditions such as developmental delay, stuttering disorder and autism. At LGH, no two treatment plans are alike: After a thorough examination, a speech-language therapist will create an individualized treatment plan based on your child’s and your family’s specific needs.

Areas of Focus

Therapy may emphasize certain areas of speech and language, including but not limited to:

  • Articulation
  • Auditory comprehension
  • Augmentative communication
  • Feeding/swallowing
  • Social interaction
  • Verbal expression

Outpatient speech-language therapy is provided at our regional center for rehabilitation services (located at 25 Marston St., Suite 106, Lawrence, MA, 01841 – just a quarter of a mile away from the main Lawrence General campus.) A physician's order is required for all treatment.
