Endoscopy is a procedure that allows doctors to look inside your body through the use of an endoscope. Scopes have a small camera attached to the end of a long, thin tube. The physician uses the scope to see inside an organ.
Types of endoscopic procedures performed at Lawrence General include:
- colonoscopy (colon area),
- endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (liver, gallbladder, bile ducts and pancreas)
- endoscopic ultrasound (digestive and lung areas)
- gastroscopy (stomach area)
The Lawrence General Hospital endoscopy team, led by gastrointestinal medical director Robert Yacavone, MD, will provide you with the highest level of comfort, privacy and convenience, before, during and after examinations.
