Welcome Karen Moore
August 10, 2015 -
"An interim leader has a very specific job,” says Karen Moore, RN
, vice president of Patient Care Services and Clinical Operations. “I’m here at Lawrence General Hospital to work with senior leaders, nurses and care teams to build, reinforce and maintain care standards, solidify the nursing governance structure, and work with all those stakeholders to develop a strategic plan for nursing here at Lawrence General.”
Karen is up to that task. She has served in the chief nurse, chief operations and chief executive officer roles at hospitals in Massachusetts and Vermont, including Marlborough Hospital in Marlborough, Kindred Hospital Park View in Springfield, and Baystate Franklin Medical Center, in Greenfield. She is already a visible presence here, doing a lot of rounding in patient care areas, and getting to know the teams who are providing our patients with great care. The conversations she has with the patients, the care providers and those who support that care will help to shape her priorities over the next few months.
“I’m so impressed with the level of care I’ve seen so far here at Lawrence General,” she adds, “and I’m excited to be here, working with you all to make it even better.” Her well-rounded expertise in clinical excellence and quality enhancement, combined with service line development and financial performance improvement will be helpful as Lawrence General responds to the changing world of health care. Please be sure to say hello and welcome Karen when you see her!
