Welcome Drs. Paresh Mane and Laurence Brinckerhoff
January 4, 2016 - We are proud to announce a new joint venture by Lawrence General Hospital and Tufts Medical Center to provide state of the art thoracic surgery services at Lawrence General Hospital. Drs. Paresh Mane and Laurence Brinckerhoff will join the Lawrence General Surgical Staff as of January 2016 and will provide comprehensive thoracic surgery care to the patients of the greater Lawrence area. Lawrence General has state of the art operating rooms and top-notch intensive care facilities allowing for most thoracic surgery care to be provided locally.
The scope of the thoracic surgery practice includes treatment of all surgical diseases of the chest, affecting the lungs, esophagus, chest wall and mediastinum. Among the malignancies treated are lung cancer, esophageal cancer and tumors of the chest wall and mediastinum. Both Drs. Mane and Brinckerhoff have extensive experience in minimally invasive thoracic surgery. These minimally invasive techniques result in less pain, less blood loss, shorter hospitalizations and faster return to normal activities.
This new Lawrence General Hospital program will provide a multidisciplinary approach including pulmonologists, oncologists, hospitalists, radiation oncologists, and gastroenterologists to optimize individual treatment plans.
Dr. Paresh Mane completed his residency in general surgery at Tufts Medical Center and his thoracic residency at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Tufts Medical School. His interests include minimally invasive lung and foregut surgery and the surgery of the airway.
Dr. Laurence Brinckerhoff completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Virginia and his thoracic residency at the University of Colorado. He is an Associate Professor of Surgery at Tufts Medical School. His areas of interest include minimally invasive lung and esophageal surgery. He has been named a “Best of Boston” thoracic surgeon by Boston Magazine for the last four years in a row.
