Physdoc Pilot Project
On Tuesday, May 12th, at 8am, we began our Physdoc pilot project on the pediatric unit. Physdoc is a Paragon physician electronic documentation system that will replace the current Booster physician electronic documentation.
This new charting system will be used by the pediatric hospitalists and residents rotating on pediatrics for all patients age 17 years and younger. Unlike Booster, these notes will not automatically print. The pediatric nurses will be shown how to view these notes in Paragon Clinical Care Station under the “Doc” column. Specialists and surgeons who are caring for pediatric patients can view these notes in Paragon Webstation for Physicians under the “Documents” tab. Reminder signs will be posted on the pediatric unit and the pediatric nurses will be able to assist physicians in locating these notes.
Specialists and surgeons who are currently not using Booster will not be using this new system for documentation at this time, only for viewing hospitalist notes. Physdoc will be used by the adult hospitalist service and Greater Lawrence Family Health Center patients starting in July 2015.
Physicians may see these new note templates in the Paragon live system, but these notes should not be used on any unit except for pediatrics during this pilot phase. There will be future messages sent regarding training for physicians to use these notes for the July hospital-wide rollout.
Physdoc does not affect the charting for labor and delivery or maternity patients, which is currently performed in OB TraceVue. Physdoc also will not affect the Emergency Center Picis/Ibex charting system.
